Fire History

Napa County sits at the center of California's Wine Country fire zone. The 2017 Atlas Fire (51,624 acres) devastated communities in the Napa foothills east of the city. The 2020 Glass Fire (67,484 acres) burned extensively through Napa and Sonoma counties, destroying hundreds of homes in St. Helena, Calistoga, and the eastern Mayacamas foothills. The 2020 LNU Lightning Complex also burned through portions of the county. Napa's hillside vineyard and residential development creates particular complexity for Zone Zero compliance.
