Fire History
Tehama County's dry terrain and position between the Sacramento Valley and the Shasta/Trinity mountains creates significant fire exposure. The 2018 Carr Fire burned along the county's northern boundary. The 2020 August Complex burned extensively through the western mountains. The 2021 Antelope Fire burned in the eastern portion of the county. Red Bluff and communities along the Sacramento River foothills face recurring wildfire threat from canyon and mountain fires moving toward the valley floor.
